About: Frank Trunzo, BAS, CAI Auctioneer
Accident or Not?

From his first appearance behind the microphone it was obvious Frank had a talent that set him apart. In only a few weeks he went from sitting in the audience watching the auctioneer to conducting auctions in front of a large audience.

As an overstocked antique dealer, he and a friend decided to hold an auction at a historic hotel in Saxonburg, Penna. Then, after contracting with a local auctioneer Frank claimed to have what it takes to conduct the auction himself. That statement would change his life. His friend took him up on his bold and brazen statement and leaked it to the pro who in turn challenged Frank on auction day to back up his statement by saying to the audience . . . “I’m off for a small bite to eat while Frank Trunzo takes over.” That was it – the rest was providence. The likely scoffers and naysayers smiled on while destiny’s path became apparent for a young man looking for his calling. If it sounds a bit like a storyline from a novel - well some say it could be. Maybe a fairytale – okay, okay it sounds a bit dramatic, not really – this story has its ups and downs, bumps and curves.

After serving his apprenticeship and selling over 150 estate auctions, greater goals became evident. Frank moved west where he embarked on an auction career of mammoth proportion conducting several auctions each week. Traveling from east coast to west and trucking large handpicked shipments of antiques to his very successful antique auction gallery, all while he operated a public auto auction and surplus construction equipment auction simultaneously. Not to mention, bankruptcy liquidation auctions along with bank and lease companies, attorneys, and large businesses, surplus state and city and government auctions.
